Help identifying mites

Just a few days ago I got my first ball python. As far as I can tell and from what other have said on here he appears to be acting normally. I have been trying to avoid touching him too much while he acclimated and so it was only today that I noticed these dark spots. I'm not sure how to differentiate between actual color of the snake and mites yet, as I've heard that mites appear as little black dots. I haven't noticed him soaking in his bowl, any black dots in the bowl, or any dots on my hands the times I've held him so far. We can't differentiate mites from cell phone pics. Take a damp white paper towel, wipe the snake, and use a magnifying glass to look at the bugs on the paper towel. If they are black and look like fleas they're probably snake mites.

That black dot in the second pic definitely looks like a mite
you can put some olive oil in your hand and wipe the snake the oil will make them fall into your hands and its harmless ive used it before and it works good

I'm not seeing mites at all. The doors in the second pic are black scales

Will be near impossible to tell scales from mites from the pictures. Might have better luck with pictures of eyes/pits.
