    Need advice
I am about to buy my second BP and I am getting a female . My question is should I just get a normal female or get a Het orange ghost female? I have a normal male bp and I want to breed one day, I would like opinions please

My advice would be for you to read a LOT more. Learn about breeding. Learn about morphs. Learn about genetics. If you do this I'm willing to bet that you would not come back with that same question. There is a lot more involved than just taking a male and female bp and placing them in the same tank. Enthusiasm is great, but start by reading, learning, and studying.

    Here's the thing Newowner1:

A normal to normal pairing will produce only normals; nothing wrong with that, but if that's the goal then there's no reason to get the het OG.

A normal to het OG will get you all normal looking offspring, but on average 50% of them will also be het OG. Unfortunately, you will have no way of telling one from the other. Essentially, this isn't a lot better than the normal to normal pairing. You would not be able to produce visual OG until the second generation of this pairing, even then you might need a little luck on your side!

If you want to produce OG you'd be better off getting at least 1 OG and a het. You'd be best off getting a pair of OG which would produce 100% OG.

Please do take the previous poster's advice about reading up on the basic genetics.

I'm sure much of that info can be found right here on BP.net

They only want 50 for the het og so I figured that was a good deal

If you want to breed keep in mind that normals and possible hets will be VERY hard to move, you could be stuck with them for months even when selling them at $20 (which means they will cost you more in feed and care than what you will be able to sell them for)

Keep the normal as a pet, and if you get a female Het Hypo try getting a visual hypo male or hypo combo male in the future.

As for the deal it depends on the size, an hatchling het hypo will be about $50 and an hatchling female hypo about $100.

I may just try to stick with my normal for right now. She just sent me a message and has a male het hypo pastel she will sell me for 70
