Feeding prob.....

Hey everyone. i've had my ball python for about 6 1/2 months. Every time i feed him i have to leave it in his enclosure. I want to start to lead him away from that. And he never seems to have any intrest at all when i dangle it in front of his face. He just ignores it and crawls past. Does anyone have any good suggestions (other then wiggle it) to get him to ge some-what interested?!?!?!?

oh, i've been feeding him rat pups, and hes about 2 1/4 feet long.

People usually dangle the prey because their snakes won't eat otherwise... I wish all my ball pythons would eat if I just left the rat in with them. If you ask me, you've it good the way it is now, and shouldn't change a thing.

Yeah, if he's eating why change it? We should all be so lucky. :)

Assuming from your post that your snake is eating f/t or f/k, you've gotten to the point others are trying to reach. I love the convenience of drop-in feeding.

Yeah I don't have to wiggle or dangle anymore for Pelota. Actually I don't think I ever had to, but thats how I started off with feeding her. Lately I just have to put the mouse down, nice and warm, and she'll strike it right away. But I do like to use the tongs once in a while to position the rodents head so its face to face with the snake, to ensure a head on strike. If your snake takes it when its not moving and just sitting there, don't change it then. As long as your snakes eating, you should be happy. :)
