Room temp ok for kings/bull snakes?
    Hey everyone,

I currently breed boas but am looking to maintain a few pairs of kings or bull snakes. A local colubrid breeder told me that usually room temperature, around 73 degrees, will suffice for kings and bull, and that not a lot of supplemental heat is necessary. My room temp never drops below the low 70s and gets up into the high 70s to low 80s in the summer. Is this sufficient enough for these animals?

    Thanks

I keep my king at around 80-85. But I don't think you should have a problem with that

I used to keep Bull and Kings in the low 70's on the cool side with a hot spot of 84 without any issues.

I keep my kings at 86, and my bulls around 84, on their warm sides. Their cool sides stay at normal ambient temps in the low-mid 70's. I know other keepers who don't use heat sources for their bulls but I think kings need a little more heat.

My kings and garters are all at room temp with just a UTH set at about 86*F with a hide on top if they do want to be warmer.
