    Would a male last in a 36" x 18" footprint and if not then for how long? Thank you for your answers I appreciate it

    It might but that depends on the what the snake will top out at.

    If its really a Blood and not Short Tail you may be pushing it when its full grown but a Short tail should be alright.

    These snakes while not long compared to some are very heavy bodied and their girth can really take up some room.

    The general rule is to give your snake a cage that is 2/3 its length in length and 1/3 of its width in width. So a 6ft snake should have 4ft by 2 ft cage. My big Blood female is just under 6ft and around 30lbs and she is in a 4ft x 2ft x 15in pvc cage that fits her well.

    Thanks. So is there any major variation with care or temperament between short tails and bloods?

    Care is the same, temperament is individual to the snake.

    My Borneo is a Sweet heart except when he wants his Rat now lol, my Baby Blood is a big teddy bear in a Bloods Body, it's really true It depends on the animal I feel Blessed that mine are nice...
