Probably not for the weak stomached ppl:S Alittle concerned! Is this normal?!?

I have had ball pythons for just over a year now and have never seen this. Idk if it was regurgitated or pooped out :S I'm assuming maby regurgitated but wat would cause a ball to do this??

Gah srry guys I can't seem to post a pic.. My cell won't allow me to download any apps as it's too full and I can't seem to access the page to upload it thru this site. Basically the head of the rat was a pile of sludge and there were no legs but the body was still covered in fur and tail still attached. It had an extremely rancid smell. Iv never seen any of my balls do this b4. I fed her Sunday so it wasn't too recent. I feed live like always so it couldn't have been due to it not being thawed properly or sumthing around those lines. So wat could have possibly cause this??

Sounds like a regourge to me. There are a lot of possible causes the easiest one is husbandry, too warm or too cold ambients can cause this. There is a possibility of a chemical issue either mite treatment on the snake or mite/ lice treatment on the rat also could be a possibility. There also could be an underlying disease of the snake that has caused the digestion system to shut down. It could also be stress related, although I would expect this to be unlikely given you have had the animal for a year it would be odd for a well adjusted snake to stress to this extreme unless something changed radically.

you will need to investigate the underlying cause.

If you have a good vet a set of blood works might be in order, I would suggest waiting a few feeding cycles and then trying again with a small prey item (fuzzy or weanling rat) and if that goes ok then progress back slowly to normal size.
