Baby corn regurge

So I'm posting on the behalf of my mom who has a baby tessera corn. The little girl regurgitated her pinky earlier this week. We have been watching her and she is hunting for food as if she is hungry which I'm sure she is. The snake spends 99% of its time on the cool side of the tank. We know the UTH isn't to hot. Any thoughts? My mom plans to feed again next feed day since she is acting hungry

Wait at least two weeks, preferably three, after a regurge before feeding again. In the meantime get some NutriBAC from somewhere like TheBeanFarm.com - it's a reptile probiotic that will help re-establish your snake's good gut flora.

The baby's next meal should be half the size of a typical meal, dusted with some NutriBAC. Offer another half-size meal after two weeks, then ten days, then seven days, then offer a normal size feeder.

If she continues to regurge then she should go to the vet to be tested for internal parasites or crypto.

If the baby spends most of her time on the cool side, then the hot side most likely either IS too hot (how are you measuring and controlling the temperature?) or does not have enough hides for the snake to be comfortable.

As for feeding follow BCR's advise. I would add, though, that you should cut slits in the skin of the frozen prey, or cut it in half entirely before thawing it and feeding. They digest much more rapidly if they don't have to digest through the skin first.

Don't yell at me for what I'm about to type it's not my snake. So we don't have the UTH on a thermostat or a herpstat but she is doing just fine now we came to the conclusion that the food we gave her was too big and she could digest it. So my mom fed her today a little baby mouse pinky and she ate it in no time flat. I've been watching her and she has spent 90 percent of time on the warm side of the tank so we will have to wait and see what happens. I showed my mom the post from BCR UT she didn't heed it.

If the UTH is not on a thermostat, there's a good chance the tank right over that area is reaching close to 120*F, which is why she is avoiding that side. A somewhat 'ghetto' way of regulating the temperature is to raise the tank up about 2 inches so that there's lots of air under the tank, and to get a marble slab from a local hardware store (they're like... $10 usually) and put the slab in the tank on top of the glass that the UTH is under. Doing this, the marble tile will usually be around 85 degrees.

A heat source that's not controlled by a thermostat is very dangerous for a snake. For $35 there's no reason not to have this essential piece of equipment if you're going to keep snakes.

You don't even need a thermostat to regulate the UTH. Go to home depot and pick up a lamp dimmer. Combine with a thermometer or IR gun and get it adjusted.

My baby corn regurged. I waited 2 weeks and then fed her just a pinkie head, which she refused... I don't wanna freak you out, but regurges are really hard on them! I waited another 9 days after that and tried another head. She refused, and then she passed away :(

I definitely advise waiting and taking it VERY CAREFULLY from here on out. Don't rush it!

Did you ever offer a regular pinky?

She's taken multiple feedings like a champ since this happened. The pinky we gave her was too big that was the reason. She's growing like a weed
