    Caiman Lizard Care?
I am interested in purchasing a captive bred caiman lizard and I have a few questions. I've read a couple of care sheets but they don't agree with each other. How big is an adult female? And what is the housing requirement for an adult? I've heard/seen people keep them in 4'x2' enclosures to 10'x5'. I am waiting a couple months to purchase one to research more information but any tips or advice you guys could give me would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have heard them compared to an aquatic version of a tegu...that being said I can only go based on how I have seen them cared for. A 4×2 enclosure is way to small...they need a big enough water feature to swim, and they are also climbers. The SD zoo has them and their enclosure is pretty nice, in talking with the reptile keepers there they have told me their main diet consists of snails.

Underground reptiles (best reptile business just saying!) has some videos on youtube for them. The store owner, ryan, he discovered how to keep really good from a friend. He says to go down to your local asian food mart and ask for frozen snails. Should come in a brick/sheet. Don't be afraid to call underground and ask if you have questions because they have caiman lizards down pat.
