Question. (sorry, sorry!)
I am moving in april and have been thinking about upgrading the size of Monty's tank since she is a growing girl.
I currently have her in a 3' long by 1' wide by 1.5' tall. Would a larger space stress her out?
If I do decide to give her a larger tank, should I put her in the new tank when I get there (my new house) or wait a little while to not stress her out too much at one time?

"She is a growing girl" is great but remember that bps really don't require a lot of space. Too much room will definitely stress her. Smaller is a better option. There is a specific dimension [lxwxh ] that is specific for all bps based on age and weight of the animal. However there is a reasonable fluctuation to those measurements and they are more so for owners who want to house their bps in rack systems. So just be reasonable and err on the side of smaller is better. Ball pythons are ambush hunters and enjoy secrecy and hiding. Stay in peace and not pieces. Good luck. A.C.:gj: :gj:

Thank you! I will probably keep her in the same tank. I want to cause her as little stress as possible with the move.

Not true. If that's your opinion, then that's fine - you're entitled to your opinion. But, it DEFINITELY may or may not stress her.
Re: Question. (sorry, sorry!)
Too much space will stress her IF it is open space.
Too much space is fine if that space contains smaller spaces.
So using a bg space is just a question of filling it with plenty of hiding places, that way she has a choice of small places, inside a big space.

Well, depending on what Melissa decides this is just some of the information that is being imparted. She can be aware that most bps enjoy hiding in tight spaces and are known to frequent burrows and termite mounds. They do enjoy smaller spaces. That is a documented fact.:gj: :gj:

Yes, that's fine - and I agree that most do. But saying that it will definitely stress her out isn't a fact.
This is my boys enclosure.

Re: Question. (sorry, sorry!)
I think as long as she has a few hiding spots it would be fine to go bigger.

Yes, there you go! Well said! That is definitely the correct response. Thank you for clarifying that. Stay in peace and not pieces. A.C.
