Ummm, Kindof scary

Do BPs "rattle" thier tails ever? I walked across the room yesterday to look at Kitty amd he got all tense and I saw his tail swishing back and forth. I have no idea what the deal was. Was he freaking out and "rattleing" at me and if so, why? :?

i have heard many snakes do this to sort of mimic a rattlesnake to pretend to be threatening if they are scared.

Some colubrids do this...I don't think I've ever heard of a boid doing it as well...they hiss instead to ward off threats.

They sometimes raise and lower their tails when they are passing gas...perhaps you spooked him and dislodged a bubble from his tummy?

the end was swishing side to side really fast and his upper body was suspended and squished as if to strike, except I am not usre why all this drama.

BP's sometimes tail wag as very defensive behavior - not to mimic a rattlesnake though. Just a little extra indication that they could easily be enticed to bite at that particular moment.

Hmm, I wonder whats up with him? I will feed him today and see if he calms down. He has never been agressive before, should I be worried?

No, once out of the clear blue I was cleaning cupids water and he decided that he wasn't my friend anymore, and struck at me 7 times. But he has never done it since, and is always as nice as he can be.
