    Feeding in their hide
Breeder told me Walter my male 8 month old super pastel last ate a live fuzzy rat sunday before last. I picked him up Saturday morning and the breeder told me to go ahead and try and feed him the next day which would have been his regular feeding day. On here most advice seems to be to wait a week and he seemed to be settling in so well I really didn't want to screw it up and stress him out.
He's now sitting in his hide with his head looking out of the hole, which he didn't do first couple days and even periscoping out from time to time.I watched him sunday morning peek out and get a drink and last night he must have been out crawling around by the way his substrate was disturbed this morning.
So tonight is my daughters corn snake feeding night, I thought I would try a very low stress attempt at feeding him by just dangling a fuzzy rat at the hole of his hide. If he doesn't eat I will just try again next Tuesday. Don't plan on handling him until after he has ate twice. Sound like a decent plan? From all Ive researched on here he seems to be doing about perfect and I just don't want to screw it up.

That's fine in my opinion. Each snake is different anyways, you just have to do what you think is best.

Thanks SKO, As I stated in another post I'm not new to snakes but am new to BP's. I did a ton of research on here for the month or more before I got him and had my tank all set up according to all the info available here and got everything regulated about perfect. From what I've gathered on this awesome website his behavior seems spot on for a new guy in a new home and just don't want to upset the apple cart so to speak. THANKS again!!!

Worked like a champ!!! Heated the f/t fuzzy rat with blow dryer, wiggled his head by the hole to his hide and WHAM. Really happy as this was his first f/t and was no issue at all.

Yeah he didn't really hit it perfect but he did get it on first try. Right after I took this picture I turned the lights off in the room and left so as not to stand there and stress him more. Came back abut 10 minutes to check in the dark and he had dropped it but was just looking for its head. He found that and dragged it I his hide and swallowed it down.
This morning I topped off his water bowl and misted his tank and while I was doing this he periscoped out of his hide to see what was going on. I'm really happy how he's doing.
