I refuse to vote in presidential elections until the electoral college is disbanded. In 2000 Al Gore won the popular vote meaning more American citizens voted for him than George Bush but somehow George W still won, how you ask? The electoral college is how.

Not to be all bitter and cynical but today if not one person had voted for either George Bush or John Kerry, a president would still be elected now tell me again exactly how my vote counts?

Also the electoral college also prevents a truly independent person to ever have a chance to become president.

Ok my rant is done I would like it if Kerry won.

MacWin...although the electoral college might not be the best way for all our votes to count, your vote still counts. If everyone had your mentality voting in general would be useless. Its your right to vote and I think you should exercise it. BUT I do agree with you...Kerry all the way. I'm not sure our country can handle another four years with G dubb.

Zachman, If my vote counts how did Gore win the popular vote and not become president? Not trying to start a argument just interested to see an answer to that.
