    active question
My ball python eats great she/he is very young has had 3 meals since I have had her. I would like to know if it is normal for her to be so active she lets me hold her but she is always moving around randomly through the day and very active at night she doesn't sit still even when I hold her she just keeps going. New to ball pythons and wondering if I am doing something wrong or if it is normal.

Sounds like normal behavior. Always searching for hiding spots or just being curious. I like to set up boxes for my girl to find and hide and crawl around in.

Are you offering her 2 hides that fit snug? Are the temps in check and overall are you making her/him feel secure. Usually a ball python that is constantly out and about is not a happy ball python. At night they do sometimes wander around but during the day they usually hole up somewhere. When they are in a new cage or have new stuff put in they can wander around too for a bit. My little pied girl wandered around for about a day after I got her but quickly settled into her hides. She came out at night to look around but during the day was always in her hides. I upgraded her hide sizes a couple week ago and she wandered around at night to check out every inch of both hides but after one night, she went back to usual ways of relaxing in her hides 95% of the time and coming out late at night to drink and do a couple laps around the cage, then either sit on top of her hides or go back in. About the only times I see her active is when she smells a rat or I take her out. So bottom line if your snake is wandering around all the time, make sure the hides are secure feeling and snug and that the temps are right.

Sounds like normal behavior to me as well. Younger BPs tend to be a bit more active. Also, since they're nocturnal, that's what they do.
