I just bought the NERD book "The Ultimate BALL PYTHON" by Kevin McCurley. It's the nicest and most in-depth book I've bought. It's hard covered, 762 pages, over 700 colored photos. Is the best book to have I'd say.

If you can afford the $100-$120 price tag, then get it for sure!

I think I would rather buy a snake for the price. But I will look out for a cheaper copy if I can search around for it.

It is worth that price it will cover all the basics from proving proper care, to breeding, hatchling care, genetics and such.....it also contains amazing pictures.

Great for someone getting started and wanting to expend their general knowledge.

If you are just interested in the genetics and do not want to spend lots of money, you can get by with Pritzel's Genetics for herpers (http://www.amazon.com/Genetics-For-H.../dp/B000ZJVXPM) and the morph list at http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs

70 is real good, I got mine for 90. Still better than 120 direct.

I've got mine all wrapped up in paper to protect it. It's like a bible for morphs. Very valuable to have.

Thanks. Im really small time and just keeping breeding down to a very minimum. Basically at most 6 total adults.
Although one of my sons said I could take half his room for some snakes as long as I dont use any lights. That opens up a whole lot of room for me.,
Sorry I ramble, I just cant justify that much on a book..lol

There are some $300+ snake books out there, $100 is not expensive, especially for this one.
