Well if your girl is a normal and you are totally sure you want to try breeding, I would go for a super male. You'll pay more, but all the babies will come out as visual morphs. Super pastels you can probably find for about 150, super mojaves start around 300 and go up but are very beautiful snakes (white snakes with faded lavender colored heads and blue eyes). I really think you should take a step back and think about why you want to breed, though. A normal female doesn't have much in breeding value beyond just being a female and being able to produce eggs, and even with a super male as a mate you are looking at a startup cost that can be a little staggering and not a whole lot of return coming your way.

I agree with Daigga on most things. Not saying this is you but Im guessing 95% of the people who plan on breeding never make it. There is a lot of money and time involved. Breeding a normal female might be ok as long as you know you have local buyers lined up, but goodluck selling single genes online. I have great animals and I know i will break even at best, but factoring in my time im for sure losing money. That said to answer your original question...Mojave way over pastel. But when your talking males you could easily get a much better male for not a lot more. Look on reptilering.com for a few weeks. Always great males going for cheap. Saw a pastel albino pinstripe go for under 200 last week. I got my ghost champagne for 140. To be honest i wouldnt take a mojave male if they paid me to take it. I wouldnt get just a super though cause it will take all the excitment out of it. If you bred her to a super pastel every baby will be pastel. No excitment there. If you bred her to a pastel enchi fire you get all sorts of possible babies and cutting eggs will be exciting.

If I were you I'd skip the single gene male and go for a double or triple gene male if you can afford it. You could get a pastave and have the best of both worlds lol or get any other two gene male that you like since most of them are pretty cheap now a days. Keep us updated though :)

I was gonna say, "why not both?" lol. But, I have to third what Diagga and Brian already said. The ball python market is pretty over saturated with sub par single gene snakes right now. At this point, if you really want to breed only single gene animals, you should be working toward improving the over all quality of the morph(s). Unless she has some truly unique and exceptional feature (reduced patterning, lot of blushing or flames, etc.), enjoy the normal girl as a pet, and if you want to try your hand at breeding, save up for some nice, quality animals.

Plenty enough value if you have the right males. :P

thanks for the feed back it has really been helpful. You see I'm not really wanting to breed ball pythons to get loads of money I just want to find out if i can breed ball pythons. If i have no success in selling the babies then i will stop breeding and just keep my snakes as pets. But thanks a lot for all the advice, i will try earn enough money to buy a two or three gene animal.
