Well hello there!
Hey!
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shayna, I'm 23, married, and have a 3 year old daughter.
We have one ball python, which Bailey named Fuzzy and a shih-poo named Teddy Man.
We had a corn snake, but it passed away. :/
I am dead set on completely getting over my fear of snakes.
I have no problem holding Fuzzy, but I can't seem to reach in and grab him/her.
I want to know as much about BP's as possible.
I love to read.
I hate cold weather.
I don't drive because it terrifies me.
I play video games.
I would like to own a leopard gecko.
I'm short. (5'2)
My husband is tall. (6')
I love watching scary movies.
I own more shoes than anyone I know, most of which are skater-type shoes
My favorite candy is Reese's.
Favorite soda is Mountain Dew.
My best friend and I have been friends for about 14 years now.
There's some random :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: about me. Now it's your turn.

Re: Well hello there!
Hello Shayna, and :welcome: to BP.net. You have definitely found the right place to read and learn about Ball Pythons, as well as, sub-forums for most other animals. Enjoy your time here.

Can you try reaching in and grabbing with something that isn't your hand? Like a small snake hook? When I bought my ball - even though he was just a little guy, and I am not afraid of snakes at all - I had this stupid giddy fear of reaching in because I thought he'd bite. So I bought a little hook and would scoop him out with that. It only took a day or 2 before I got over it (but like I said, I really don't have a fear to begin with) - I just had to re-acquaint myself with snakes and their body language again. I have not used the snake hook since then save for to lift his hidey hut if I need to check something and am too lazy to take the whole top off. Lots of snake hooks are extendable, so you could start long, and as you get more comfortable shorten the length, then start hooking him and picking him up with your hand, then just your hand, etc.
Welcome aboard :)
