Please help

So I bought a carpet python a couple weeks ago and I realized it started getting a RI and I've just been trying to prevent it myself, I feed her every Wednesday live or dead and she eats within seconds but now she hasn't eaten for 3days and and her symptoms haven't been getting any worse... Any help? She's 8months old

At 8 months old a little fast shouldn't hurt her. What are your temps and humidity like? Hopefully someone with a carpet will post in addition

Temps at 88-92 and humids 50% has only been like that for a couple days now

Of course the RI needs to be treated, I wouldn't expect an ill snake to feed.

what subspecies of carpet?

88-92 seems like a good hot spot, but too high for ambient.

While not not nearly as famous for hunger strikes as BPs, carpets will indulge in winter time fasts, though not usually at this age with warm temps.

I'm guessing once RI is cured, snake will be eating.

Jungle carpet... My cat literally just scratched my snake and ripped the skin pretty good, I can see muscle but I don't think there's any blood... Any heads up before I get to the vet?

Not seeing the injury its hard to tell you what to do but it needs to be cleaned and kept clean. You can use a Neosporin product but make sure it does not have any pain relievers in it.

If the cat scratch is on the lower part of the snake near or on the belly you may want to keep the snake on paper towels for now.

A snake refusing food can be one sign of an RI but it is also a common issue in a new snake that may be stressed. What are the signs you are seeing that makes you think it has an RI?

Handling and letting you cat around the snake is not going to help the situation. You need to let the snake relax until you get things under control.

I have kitties but mine are very well trained and they know to leave snake alone. I still rarely will allow my cat near me while I am handling my snake. How did this happen?! :O Pics please?

KMG is correct Neosporin with NONE of the pain reliever can help, and betadine can keep it clean if you swab it a couple times a day. Paper towels are a good idea to keep anything weird from bedding getting into that cut while it heals.

Me my cat and reptiles sit together all the time he's a great cat but I guess he just didn't like THIS snake because he didn't show a warning or anything he just tried to attack it, never done anything like that before.

So is it still wheezing?

During a shed you will sometimes hear clicks and pops that confuse some into thinking its a RI.

Do you have stringy saliva or see it sitting with its head pointed up?

If it was having a problem shedding its possible that your humidity was not high enough during the shed.
