    Incubation
    Hi everyone
quick question regarding incubation setup. Has anyone used an alternative to egg crate/light diffuser such as hardware cloth etc? Need to improvise on the egg crate over my substrate (vermiculite). Any ideas and or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all!!

I have heard people using plastic canvas for craft needle point which can be bought at most craft stores such as Hobby Lobby, etc. Link below.

I've used this. WalMart also sells it, it's cheap, and it prevents condensation from building up on the bottom of the egg. I also use the smallest plastic zip ties available to attach it to the light diffuser so the snake can't sneak between the plastic canvas and the light diffuser.

You were given some good suggestion, I will touch on the hardware cloth idea, it will rust in no time with the humidity level.

    CD CONSTRICTORS
What I do is place a 6" piece of 3/4" PVC pipe on each side of my 6qt tub. Fill with vermiculite to the level of the PVC pipe and then wet the vermiculite till it kinda just barely "floats". Place your light diffuser on top of the PVC and your eggs will never get wet.
