41 vs 60 quart for new rack

I am in the process of planning out a new rack for my snakes but am now having some trouble deciding between 2 tubs. I know the most popular sterilite tubs for ball pythons are 41 quart 1960s and these are the ones used in the plan but I noticed when looking at my local Target tonight that there is an option that seem like it might allow for more floor space while still fitting in the same rack.


The 60 quart 1761s seem to give more floor space and have less of a bump/groove at the bottom. I would just pop the wheels off to allow for the tubs to sit right on the heat tape.


Has anyone tried the 60 quart tubs? Any positives or negatives? Thanks for any input.

The tubs are not supposed to sit right on top of the heat tape as eventually they will destroy the tape when you slide them in and out of the rack. The heavier the tub+snake, the faster the wear on the heat tape.

If the 60-qt tubs will fit in your rack design then I would adjust it to leave the wheels on and find a way to raise the heat tape up a bit, maybe with a layer of flat panel foam insulation underneath the heat tape, so the tape can sit close to but not touch the bottom of the tub.
