New Enclosure question..

Pictures coming later today, i got a new enclosure from the dumpster in my apt complex, it's missing a door and one door has glass on it, question is what side should i use the glass on the warm side or the cool side of the enclosure.. i'm going to be using screen for the top where the light has to go and the other door that's missing... so AGAIN which side should i put the glass door on, the warm side or the cool side..??

You are going to find having that much screen is going to make it difficult to keep humidity and get nice sheds. I would seek a glass shop and get a new door and maybe even a top custom cut. I had a 1/4 inch glass base cut for my 40 gallon tank and it was pretty cheap. Glass or Plexi would look and function better than screen mesh.

I need to see it before I can offer advice... I'm a visual learner....

a lil customization is gonna happen, going to cut a big enough hole in the middle part so they can travel from side to side..

If you put a screen door on the front you're going to have a real issue with heat and humidity. I'd install a plexi glass door with a bunch of holes drilled in it for ventilation. It'll retain more heat and humidity.

You're also going to have to find a way to waterproof the wood in a safe way for pets, which isn't the easiest thing to do. There was a very recent thread about mold due to moisture in a wood enclosure and I would hate to have the same thing happen to you.

This, or that thing will mold/rot really fast.

I'd just replace both doors with wood doors and use it as storage. You can never have enough storage.

ETA: Another option is to put a shelf in it, and make a small rack out of it. It would work if you used a lid-on-tub design.

I agree with BCR, you are going to put a lot of work in for short term results that may expose your snake to health hazards.

Good initial idea though.
