    ?? About possible gravid female
Our pinstripe we believed ovulated either 12/14 or 12/23. She shed on 1/9 and she just shed again today. On 12/14 she weighed 2095g and today she weighed 1944g. She did lock with a male on 1/1. Should we assume she is gravid or keep pairing her....or do you think she isn't going to go this season. Any advise Would be helpful. Thank you

If she had ovulated when you say,she would be hugging the heat 24/7 and gunning around 88 degrees.;)

Granted that you saw an ovulation and that it was a pre-lay shed you are still on schedule, now you female as mentioned above should be on the warm side.

If you want certainty given the time line simply do this hold your female straight head down and tail up and reverse the position head up and tail down, as you slowly reverse the position if she is gravid you will not only see the eggs moving but will be able to count them (of course be gentle)

I dont think she is gravid. You stated you thought she ovulated in December, but since then shes shed twice and locked once. That doesnt sound like the behavior of a gravid girl. I would keep trying to pair her, they can go year round and even for seasonal breeders a lot of their girls are just getting started.

She has been in a perfect coil on her warm side for over a month.

She *shouldn't* be locking if she has ovulated. I would keep pairing until you know without a doubt that she's going to lay. Pairing her while she's gravid isn't going to hurt her.

She laid 7 good eggs yesterday. I was surprised with the gift when I got home from work yesterday 😃 I couldn't feel or tell how many eggs she had. Every time I attempted to palpate her she just got stiff.

For next time you don't palpate gravid females ;), you palpate to feel follicles (that's before they ovulate)

    Congrats BTW

Haha....she wouldn't let me feel for any of it. I was never able to see eggs at all, just that she got huge
