Understanding infrared heating??
If I get an infrared light would I be able to use it to raise my racks ambients? I need to raise them by 5 degrees during the winter, especially at night. I would just point it at the front of the rack possibly at an angle so it doesn't heat up too much. What kind do I get and do I buy just any fixture from the pet store? I've never use heat lights before. Any specific wattage? I plan to have it a few feet away from the rack, and on a dimmer.
Edit: I can't heat it with a Che or by making my house hot because the other members of my house think its hilarious to make it 75 degrees at all times. I can't buy an oil filled radiator either although I'd love to.

Maybe I'll look into getting the Che then. I was (and I don't know why) under the impression they were no good. Can I find one at a local pet shop or do I find it in a hardware store, and should I use a tstat?
Do I need a special light fixture for it?

Should I point it directly at the front of the rack, or should I angle the CHE so it's only barely hitting the fronts of my tubs?

Lol that's exactly what I tried. I think it'll work like that but it gets too hot so I need a dimmer (my uth is using my tstat). Thanks bird
