I guess I got really lucky.
I was going to post this the day that my snake shed, but I forgot about it and I have just remembered. But about 2 weeks ago my snake shed for the first time with me. Many owners would have liked to see their snake shed for the first time and some of them are still waiting to catch them in the act. I guess I got really lucky because I saw him shedding the first time he had shed with me. :P

Anyone else managed to catch their snakes first shed?

I've only seen mine in the act of shedding on a few occasions. I don't check on them often enough to catch it usually

Nope. My young ball is my first snake and one day I noticed he was in shed. A week later I come home from work and there lies his old skin. For now I'll settle for someday being able to watch his shed.

Three of mine have gone in the last week, and another two or possible three are going to go in the upcoming week. I've had at least one since February of last year, and I have never caught a single one in the act. I can see the signs they're about to go, but then I usually just find the old skin balled up in their enclosure at some point int he week.

One of my BPs practically needs assistance with shedding because she has no will to do it her self. She'll just pop the head skin off and sit in the rest for up to a week even. (before I pull it off)
The other one just sheds it all off fine and even has the courtesy to soak it in urine.

Wow thats cool. I've caught a bunch of mine right after they have shed, literally just finished the tip of the tail when I noticed. The cool part is how damp the shed is when it comes off, reminds me of the scene in Alien when the guy finds the shed skin and its all wet and sticky. I had 4 of mine shed in this past week and still have one to go, I swear they talk to each other and coordinate when to shed.

Six years of owning BP's, and never have I once seen them in the act of shedding. I think I missed my butter pastel pinstripe shedding by mere minutes this morning.

I save sheds and bring them when I show the snakes and unrolling a still damp skin so it can dry is kinda weird but I think it's fun for the kids to play with. And the eye caps and full head are always impressive if you can save um, a lot of the time that's what they hook on something to pull off the rest of the shed and it gets destroyed
