I don't understand why people like them so much to line their tubs. I've been trying this for about three weeks now because I was getting tired of chunky aspen shavings everywhere (I'd buy the big bag in the rodent bedding section). I've discovered an OCD of mine, snakes wrinkling the paper all up into balls and messes. I swear I clean every day opposed to just spot checks because someone drags their paper towels into their bowl, or pees an ocean, or paints their tub walls. I really regret not adding that experimental bag of sani chips to my pet360 rat food order. The only polite ones with their paper towels are the baby boas.

My hides and water bowls keep mine down. Occasionally they will loosen one up but not often.

I've seen some breeders on the tubeyou using them. I think it's meant to be an everyday change out? I feel your pain, boiling substrate every week or so got old for me quick!

i really like cypress mulch myself it holds humidity in a better range for me, easy to spot clean and its not all that expensive if you buy a decent amount at a time. in my humble opinion paper towels are for drying your hands and i always felt that using them just wasnt my way. especially since by nature these snakes like to burrow in termite mounds and the like, i dunno maybe it doesnt matter all that much to them but i try to at least basically mimic a natural environment without being too crazy. although ive seen some truly astounding enclosure setups on here

I use cypress mulch for my BP, but with my other snakes I prefer newspaper over paper towels. They can get under it and burrow around, but they rarely actually wrinkle/bunch it up. idk why but I feel like paper towels would get on my nerves really fast.

You might want to check out the Repti-Zorb Liners from Superior Shipping Supplies. They're heavier weight than paper towels and I've been using them for the last 9 months or so without any concerns.
