    New owner worries.
My ball python has been in his tank for over three weeks. The first two I only had two hides a waterbowl and a stump thing in there. Last week I added some plants. He now just sits in his warm hide. He comes out and cruises around his tank at night still and is just slightly more active during the morning and at night. I am wondering if he feels too cluttered? Do they like the warmth if they are about to shed, he shows zero signs of shedding. He seems ok I just dont know why he is only on the warm side now when he used to use both equally. His temps and humidity are all fine. He had kind of a bad experience with his last feed as the rat was too big and he wouldn't eat it. Maybe it stressed him out so he is being weird now? Both sides are identical with hides and plants. I have a temp gun i use as well as a thermometer in mid tank just to moniter temp drops and a probe for his heat pad. Like I said the only change is the plants.

Sounds like pretty normal behavior to be honest. If you're confident about your temps then he may be using the cool side hide for short periods of time and you're not up to see him do it. They almost always go into hiding when a shed cycle is beginning and sometimes it's easy to miss them in blue, it happens pretty quick on some snakes.
