Do these guys look big enough to breed?
The lesser is producing sperm plugs and when I bought him they told me he weighed 410g. And I have 2 normal females and I'm not sure if they are big enough to breed. I'm getting a scale in a few days so I'll know their weights but I just wanted an idea from you guys, if you guys think they look big enough. I have another male that's up to size so I'm more curious about the normal females.http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...3f7081438f.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...c2ce653d24.jpg

Uhhh, it's not possible to tell without knowing weights and ages :gj:.

The male at 400 grams could be ready to go if he's producing sperm plugs and is eating well. Have someone pop him if you don't know how, and see if he's got sperm plugs.

Rule of thumb for females is 1500+ grams in weight, and 2 years of age.

Best way to get the females ready is to just fatten them up!

Hard to tell the females size, what size tub are you using?

Yes it's hard to tell just looking at the pictures. When you get your scale it will answer a lot of questions for you.

You should seriously get a scale like someone already suggested and weigh them. You shouldn't be just throwing snakes together to breed just because they look up to breeding size. :confusd::confusd::confusd:

Well wouldnt the female only be receptive if she's is ready? I was under the impression that the females will breed at least at 1200g any smaller they just won't do it. Plus the guy I bought her from said she was an adult.

Just because they can breed doesn't mean they should breed. If I were you I would wait to get a scale and see what your females weight is. Their health is the most important thing, and if she's under weight then breeding her could cause some serious health issues.

Even if they are 1500 grams i would not breed these animals yet. Condition is just as important, if not more so than weight or age. Their backs looked peaked, suggesting they are underweight. Ball pythons should look round and smooth if they are healthy.
