Does anyone know if the gels for theater lamps would be ok to cover the face of the heat lamp with to make a light that can be left on for heat 24/7?

    Theater gels
moving to the caging forum for ya!

When you say heat lamp, do you mean a CHE, a red light bulb, or a regular light bulb? I've worked with theater gels for a long time and i would venture to guess that they would be ok as long as they dont flake any paint or emit any fumes ( which i've seen them do on occasion ).

Thanks :) It is a clamp lamp with a 150w bulb I bought at the petstore, the brand name escapes me at the moment. I have used these particular gels before and they are good as far as fumes and the like.

Cant hurt to give it a try. I would suggest a red gel if you are going to run the light 24 hours a day. I actually used one for a while before i got my CHE ( its not necessary for me to use any now, but ... ). This is a great example of making herp supplies out of everything :D

Yeah, I got the gel already, a nice deep red. Actually I have had it for a while I just wasn't sure if that was an ok idea
