How to bring up ambient temp in tub lightbulb or ceramic/modifications to tub?
Ok, so I have been told several different things. I need to bring up the ambient, but was using a red bulb that gave me a BAD migraine. I was told to use a ceramic bulb, but then was told it would melt the tub.

One petstore is telling me to cut a hole out of the tub because the bulbs/ceramic heater WILL melt the plastic, the other is telling me it will be fine. Any ideas/suggestions?

If the fixture is touching, it will definitely melt plastic.

It isn't touching, it is just hanging in the closet to bring up the temperature in the closet. I can't bring up the whole temperature in the room unfortunately for other reasons, hence me doing the closet.

If its not touching the plastic I wouldn't think that it could put off enough heat to melt it. This thread covers a similar topic and someone cut a hole in their tub and glued/taped mesh to the hole.

What Pit said. I keep my room temp at 85. No issues.
