Assisted Feeding

I was wondering about assisted feeding today and just had a few questions:
How do you do it?
How long should your bp be off feed before you should try it?
How much stress does it put on the snake?

I believe it puts too much stress on your animal to be trying this with out the proper training. I would recommend anyone worried about their animals weight and intake of food to ask a qualified herp vet.

I agree with Rusty - it would have to be quite a stretch of months before I would even begin to consider this as it could possibly be quite traumatic on the snake.

I asked this question to my vet a couple of weeks ago. She said that as long as there is no rapid weight loss and the snake is still quite firm that there is no need to worry about assist feeding at that time. (not her exact words...I have slept since then)

I asked the question because of Monty Joe being off feed for approximately 13 weeks at the time. She said that he was still very healthy and in no way near having to be assist fed. She said that he may go another 2 months or more without eating. And of course to bring him back if I thought it was ever needed and she would show me how to do it.
