Enclosure size too small?

So my adult male super pastel ball python kept breaking out of our screen top cage. So I traveled down to our pet supply store and asked what they recommended for an adult ball python and i told him the size of our snake, he ended up selling me a zoo med terrarium they we have him set up in now but I'm wondering if its truly big enough for him the dimensions on the tank are 24"x18"x12" making it a twenty gallon tank I believe. i have had him in this tank for couple of weeks now and I'm wondering if this is big enough for the guy I haven't really seen any signs of stress from him. But I was hoping on the community's opinion on the matter.

Sorry if this question has been asked before i searched and really couldn't come up with any straightforward answer to the question.

a 40 gallon terrarium is ideally the minimum size for an adult BP

I think the question that is not being asked is how big is your BP? How much does he weigh? There could be a big difference in size in male adults.

just took him off the scale i have honestly never weighed him since he was a baby and man getting length was hard dude is strong

I would go bigger....at least a 40 gallon. I prefer racks though.

i have a tank the 32"x13"x13" he just kept breaking out of the screen top i had small holes to run my temp and humidity gauge through but he pushed them open from like a 1/8th of a inch opening to a 4 inch wide hole. I would like to avoid a rack system just due to the fact it nice to have him on display in the side room. any suggestions on how to run cables into this type of cage because it looks like he's going back to his old one

I'll +1 everyone else on the 40B. I keep mine in one, and while he's small I have it partitioned so he can grow into it. 40B is 36x18x16.
