dead or live?

I got a male and a female spring babies at the Ohio reptile show on Sat. they have been fed thawed frozen. i have other snakes but they all eat live. i have never fed frozen! should i keep my new babies on frozen? :?:

I am sure you will get a resounding "YES!" from most everyone who posts here. It is safer for your baby and isn't that who we all are most inclinde to care about. :)

Yes, stick with what your new babies are use to. I too have a couple of snakes that eat live only, and the rest eat f/k or f/t. I do wish mine who eat live only would be willing to take what the others take. It is safer and actually easier. Enjoy your new babies, and hope to see pics soon.

I would deffinetly keep them on what they are use to (thawed frozen) as the others have said, much safer and easier.

yep frozen/thawed is the way to go. if you haven't tried switching your other snakes over you might want to give that a try as well. it is safer, and may be easier to have them all eating the same thing if they will take it.

or if you buy live simply pre-kill. I raise my own and only kill when they will fed directly afterwords. Stick to what they are used to.

Yea, i'd stick to what they are used to....and i'd reccomend trying to get the rest of your collection away from live....at least try to get them eating Pre-Killed

Thanks 4 all your help!!! i have tried to feed my burmese frozen and pre killed but he will not eat them, i have not tried with the rest of my snakes, the guy that i bought them from only feeds live so this is what they are used to. its a good thing my snakes eat with me standing over them because i will not leave the spot till they have safely killed their meal, it will be easier to feed my new columbians

well,boas are easy to convert from live to frozen or vice-versa,but i dont think you would want to risk the snake getting injured

well first of all i just wanted to thank you for your suggestions, i fed my neww babies their f/t meal without any problems i went ahead and tried the rest of my snakes on f/t also, there was a few problems but im happy to say all but my big burmese ate, he refuses to eat anything but live
