    Locking
Vague title I know, but at what point will males stop locking with females. Couldn't find anything with the search function so decided to ask.

I believe the male will continue to lock until the female is no longer receptive. But to not over do it, many people will pair them about once a shed cycle. You could do it more often if the male is only being used for one girl so as not to overbreed him to the point of injury or stress.

U will usually find that if ur female has ovulated i.e. Is gravid thn the males will not touch her! Allso if you have not done a temp drop thn there is no way for the males to know its time to breed! The temp drop is designed to simulate the breeding season, it encourages follicular development in females and sperm production in males! Hope this helps

Thank you both, I did do a temp drop and the male has been locking the girl since November. I've seen four locks so far. She is still cool seeking and just hammering food. So I'll just keep going at this point. Thanks again
