    Younger Ball pythons
Are younger ball pythons more vocal then older ones? I currently have a 83g albino female and she has hissed at me both times I have picked her up, yet my 300g normal unsexed.. untill it gets warmer out never hiss's at me. Just kind of surprised me the first time because I wasn't expecting it.

Mine seem to be a little hissy when they're young. Its most likely that the animal is still young and hasn't been handled enough to get used to it.

They're fragile and vulnerable at that age, so they need to bark and bite more. They also aren't used to you. Some stay that way forever but most go through a phase young and snap out of it around 3-500g

They usually grow out of it as they age, and grow a little. Just keep handling him and he will get better.

Mine used to hiss so much the Petco ppl put her up for adoption for being 'too aggressive'. Worked out well for me at least :D She's about a year old now and hisses a lot less. She also seemed a lot more likely to just hiss then calm down rather than bite.

Well thanks for the answers I'll have to see if she grows out of it was just wierd cuz my 300g normal isn't much older and never heard a peep out of her/him lol

My little pinstripe female let out a huge hiss last night when I had to move her out of her tub to clean because she shed and pooped everywhere. It was the first time she has hissed at me. After I cleaned her tub and put her back in she then proceeded to fart really loud and spray poop everywhere, lol. She is quite the little stinker!

LOL! She held her major dumps in for quite a while. I knew she would eventually tear loose!

LOL thats insane.. my little one seems to poop every 4 day.. got her Dec 31st and she pooped the next day then few days later, fed her on the 4th and she went again lastnight... and the other one just has a fascination with pooping in his warm side hide.. only time i see him use his cool side so pretty easy to tell when he does it

but anyways I just took her out today and no hiss so maybe shes getting used to it
