    Help!
Okay, I just saw this on the underside of my bp's jaw. I just finished moving recently, so I haven't had a whole lot of time to handle him and check him over.

Before I moved he ate fine (frozen) and since we've moved he hasn't, which I attributed to either brumide or something else. But now that I see this I'm seriously worried because I literally have 0$ until probably february... what should I do?http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...34ebc105f6.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...0d00d0cd02.jpg

Normally I would say iodine soak + either triple antibiotic ointment, neosporin without the painkiller, or silver sulfadiazine (available online from http://www.mountainside-medical.com/), but with the injury that close to the snake's mouth I'd be worried about him possibly ingesting those products.

Gently cleaning the wounds with sterile saline solution (the stuff used for contact lenses) followed up by vetericyn gel (Petco sells it) may be a better option, those products won't hurt your snake if he ingests them. Also once it dries vetericyn won't wipe off or get stuck to the paper like the ointments and creams will.

Otherwise your snake needs a very minimalistic setup in his enclosure so he doesn't end up making those wounds worse as he moves around: paper towel or newspaper substrate, water bowl, warm hide, cool hide.

    Re: Help!
Thank you very much. I'll try these as soon as I'm able, and I'll switch out the substraight asap.

I think he got it from the cage. I only recently noticed it has a space where he can stick his head oit of and get stuck, which I had to let him loose the other day. I've fixed it, but it's too late it seems.
