    Uth
Hi everyone. I am pretty new here. Have been reading alot just havent posted anything yet. So here is my question... what is your favorite UTH and why? there are obviously alot of different ones that are available, and being new to the hobby I have only used the one zoomed one that I purchased for my tank setup, therefore I am wondering if anyone would give me some pro's and con's on some other brands. Thanks!

I second the THG heat tape. I don't care for under tank heaters anymore due to my snakes being in tubs. REMEMBER, all uth's or heat tape needs to be controlled by a THERMOSTAT.

Depends of the use, for racks I prefer to use heat tape, for stand alone enclosure or temporary enclosure I prefer to use Ultraterm heat pad, they are a lot less flimsy which make them ideal to store or move back and forth.

    THG heat tape for racks.
Ultratherm or Intellitemp mats for single enclosures with a relatively small critter (anything that fits in a 48"x30" enclosure)
Kane heat mats for snakes that require an enclosure wider than 48".

I use THG heat tape for my rack as well as under my Vision 211's.

Intellitemp mats dold by big apple herps in new york packaged with their bah 1000. I use nothing but them for individual tanks. They maintain within 2 degrees, one stat can handle three mats. Very few people talk about them, but I would use nothing else. If you plug them straight in the plug they will NOT ever get higher than about 108 degrees which will not kill an animal. They have a great website with video tutorials and great customer service.
