Question about my new bp's behaviour
Just a quick question guys. I'm new to taking care of a ball python and just wondering if this is normal. Yesterday I fed my Bp at around 9AM (her scheduled day according to breeder) and there was no issues there, she ate like a champ and stayed in her warm hide for awhile but last night I guess she explored and decided to go into the cold hide and hasn't gone out since. Just wondering if this is alright?, why is she staying in the cold side? could something be wrong with her or does she not want to be warm. Surface temp is great and ambient temp is 85-90, humidity I'm still struggling with so far but I do my best to keep it 50 and above. But yeah just want to know if everything's alright, thanks in advance.

Do you actually mean what you're saying here? How are you measuring temperatures? Got a picture of your setup you can share with us?
Here's the reason why I ask:
- Hot spot temp should be around 90
- Ambient temps should be around 80
If your ambient temperature is actually what you say it is and your "surface temp" is warmer than that, you need to take a look at your husbandry more closely. Read at least the first link in my signature to get better idea of their care requirements. :)

Just a hint, to keep in humidity I use aluminum foil above the tank (I have a regular 40 gal (?) Tank. I cover that with a towel and a blanket. And it holds in heat and humidity perfectly. Try not to put anything wet on top, as it could rust the lid.

I forgot to mention, I also use coconut shred (zoo med Eco earth) For the substrate. It holds in humidity well, and is fairly inexpensive. 8 dry quarts for $10.99 http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...c6bac7ab32.jpg
