The pet store near me is going out of business and they have about 100 packages of Critter Care shredded paper bedding. The owner said he'd give it all to me for $40. That is a huge deal! That should be all the substrate I need for over a year, but I've never even heard of the stuff. I've only ever used aspen, paper towels, or newspapers. I'm wondering if anyone uses this, or if anyone knows it's safe? I don't see anything in the labels on the bag that shows it to be toxic, but it does promote "odor control" so I'm worried there might be chemicals on the paper. I know about the problems with pine and cedar bedding, and I don't want to use anything that will harm my snakes, but if this stuff is ok to use it could save me a lot of money. I thought since it is paper bedding it would be fine.
Any thoughts?
