    Herpstat question
Does anyone know if there is a price difference between the original model and redline herpstats? It doesn't look like it from their website, but I would like to make sure I don't order one thing they're the same when I could have gotten a better deal on the other. Also, does the manufacturer ever have a sale direct on their website, or would I be better off hunting around Amazon/Ebay for a used one for a deal?

Here is the Buy Direct part of their site and yes the redline versions are $10 more than the regular model from them. They ship out fast.

First, there is a price difference between the redline and normal. The only difference is the led color. The redline herpstat 1 does the exact as the herpstat 1 except in a different color. The manufacturer does have a direct sales. Go to Spyderrobotics, then at the bottom of the page in the center you will see "Buy Direct". Click that and it will give you a list. BTW it is usually cheaper on shipping to buy direct from them, at least it is when I order from them. As for used, up to you but if you do buy used, make sure it from a reputable source or if its something like Craigslist, make sure you plug it in and test it before giving cash. Oh and it looks like from their website, the price difference between the redline and normal is $10 more for the redlines.

Aha, there we go. Hmm, is a fancy red light worth an extra 10 bucks? The sale question still stands as well.

I bought my Herpstat 4 from them directly and they have great service.

My others I bought used. One off here and the other two from Fauna.

If you can find a good deal on one great but buying directly certainly isn't a bad idea if you want or need it now.

Buying direct is probably the least expensive way to purchase a new device. Also, if you can wait, they have ran 10% off sales a couple times this year so I would suspect more to follow in the future. Also, they or someone has posted threads on here in advance of the sales so you know when to purchase.

If you're comfortable with buying used, put a wanted ad on here and Fauna. That's how I ended up buying both of my Herpstat 4s.
