:) Hello everybody,
Well, I thought I would offer some advice to any BP keepers out there that have been having any problems with their snakes shedding...I have worked out a regimen now that seems to work great - my BPs are all shedding perfectly with long sheds that are all in one piece. Gone are the days of me having bad sheds...you know, tatters of shed all over the enclosure and having to help your snake shed by carefully peeling off stuck eyecaps and the like  :? What I do now is when I see that a shed is imminent by the usual signs ( ya know, bluish eye spectacles, pink underside....) I up the humidity in the enclosure to about 75% and I bathe the snake in a mixture of water and this product called "Shed Ease" once a day up until the shed. I highly recommend this product or anything like it - ZooMed makes an excellent product. I am not sure what is available to all of you out there but I recommend this regimen to ensure a nice healthy shed when it is time. Just bathe your snake about 25 minutes and you will see how nice of a shed they have!!!!!!!!! :P  :D
Just a lil advice from the

Good advice. :)
My current shed regimen is upping the humidity to 80%, and filling a spare rubbermaid I have with some water just deep enough for soaking. I place a stick or rock in it so the snake doesn't have to swim all the time if it gets tired. And I soak the snake in there for about 10-20 minutes once a day until the shed. With the daily soakings, and the high humidity, sheds aren't a problem.
Guess it's basically the same as your regimen only without the shed ease. For some reason I've told myself I'll try to get everything right on my own and stay away from products. I'm weird like that. :P

I got to admit that I am a sucker for snake products...I LOVE trying out all the latest stuff from companies like ZooMed and HerpCare....I got all kinds of crazy stuff to use on my snakes...I love spending money on my snakes...it gives me a warm scaly feeling...:)

I just give my BP a good spray down a few times a day, and when they start to "peel" then let them soak just for a minute in their water bowls. Then a perfect shed every time.

hmmm... shed ease... *goes to petco.com*
might be lookin into that. thanks :)

Hmm, I prefer not to spray chemicals on my snakes.
I'd rather soak em, and bump up the humidity.
Nothing but perfect sheds here.

Yay, you're a purist too? <3

Same here. I've heard a couple of different things about shed-ease, and 75% of them bad. I'll stick with proper husbandry and let the sheds take care of themselves.

yeah, it shouldn't really be neccesary to use products and stuff in order to get a good shed once you have had your snakes for several sheds and have all their husbandry right. natural is always good, and cheaper too. :)

All right, tell me, what you heard that's horrible about shed ease?
