Hey guys, I've been talking to Mr. Hamper back and forth a few times and he has some females. I'm getting a female because everything I have is female except for my gosh-darned frog Murphy :). Little gooberbutt.

Anywho. I just wanted to make sure I have everything:

    Rubbermaid
    digi thermo/hygro
    2 clay pot bottoms
    water dish
newspaper/papertowels (I will probably use aspen though)
    human heating pad
little dobbies to lift enclosure off of heating pad
    disposable gladware for humid hide
    mice (well duh)
    and of course the snake...

I think that's about it. It was funny... He emailed me after I asked him a question about keeping it in a rubbermaid and he said to keep her in a 10 gal with a light for a heat source... I was like "excuse me?" I told him what I preferred... anywho.

So ya'll just let me know. And I also need to think of some names..

Becky, glad to hear you'll finally get your bp. :) You should be set with everything on your list, though I'd bear in mind that if you have trouble stabilizing temps you might want to pick up a thermostat to run the heat pad off of, and it wouldn't hurt to see if you can get some virusan/nolvasan or something for cleaning time. Congrats!

Don't worry Marla, we have bleach coming out the wazoo :) . Is there a good place to go for cheap thermostats? Not cheaply made, cheap as in price. Yeah skater, Don and Robbie Hamper are very well known breeders and they do a great job raisin' them babies up :)

ZooMed thermostats can be had pretty cheaply -- I got mine for $10 apiece -- but aren't necessarily as reliable as other brands. Otherwise, http://www.lllreptile.com/ is the cheapest source I know of for thermostats, but somebody might have a better source. When do you expect your snakey?

I need to get my setup finished. Going to Michael's and getting those pot bottoms and some foliage to make her more comfy. So maybe this coming week or the week after. :)

Cool; females are always great to have in case you want to breed someday; buying an adult male is much cheaper then.

Already have an adult male on hand who is 4+ years old :) I don't really plan on breeding, but if, in a couple of years, she is big enough and eats well, then I might try it. I just really want to have her as a friend. Snakes are so much fun to have around. They don't bark... :)

Good Luck on your new buy :)
And yes, I must agree that snakes are very fun ...

Congrats, new additions are always exciting. Another thing you'd need is something to keep the rubbermaid securely closed. Don't want her escaping!
