Let's see your carpet python setups!

Hey everybody. I'm pretty up and down about then snake I want to get. I've been looking at jungle carpets, Burmese, retics and anacondas. But I just want to see some naturalistic carpet enclosures right now but this is how I have my enclosure setup at the moment. Obviously I'm going to take out the linoleum floor and use cypress if I get a carpet but here ya go. :) post them pics!http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...9daf0b2a11.jpg if I do get the snake I will put an exo Terra foam rock background in there. The tanks measurements are 21L X 18D X 32"H

You have a nice setup but most snakes don't need height but rather more ground space.

I have a Carpet and a Burmese. I like them both a lot, but Burms are by far my favorite. The Carpet will use the levels of "branches" I have in the enclosure, but spends a lot of time in his hides on the ground too. I agree, more floor space is better, but if that's the enclosure you are looking to use, a Carpet would enjoy it if you set it up right.

Thanks guys :) but I'm still pretty undecided on what I'm going to get yet although a carpet python would be a lot easier to get because burms are a banned species illegal to transport across state lines. By the way I would not use this tank for a Burmese. I have a 40 gallon breeder size to start it in.

I have a Bredli and this is her in the temp enclosure til I finish her future home. She is still shy but at the same time she is really curious. I have been working a lot so I have not been able to interact with her as much as I would like to.

That would be a good tank for a new carpet but it wouldn't be long before it outgrew it. If you get a jungle they tend to do some climbing and perching. If you get a coastal they will do that when hatchlings but tend to stay on the ground when they are adults.

IJ's and diamonds, I haven't had personal experience with so I am not sure how they are for climbing but would like peoples input if they got any on that. Same with Bredli's as well.

Big snakes are illegal in Canada so I have never owned burns, anaconda, etc. So I can't speak about differences between them. I do really enjoy carpets though and find they are a lot more interesting then most other snakes I've owned.
