seems like really weird behavior!
my ball python has recently started resting with his head outside of his hide resting on a piece of wood. I am confused as to why he isn't hiding his head. it seems weird for a BP to be so comfortable resting outside of his hide.. the humidity where I live has been super low lately and I've hooked up a reptifogger to his cage until my room humidifier comes in the mail, the fogger is pretty close to his hide and I'm thinking maybe this is somehow causing it. i dont know.

Re: seems like really weird behavior!
My BP usually does this just before coming out for a drink but he will usually have his head out of the hide for around 30mins then decide to get a drink and go back in, I don't think its anything to be too concerned about, as long as the husbandry is all fine.

He's just surveying his home. I would think it means he feels safe.

The closer it gets to feeding day, the more noses I tend to see sticking out of hides. It's perfectly normal behavior and I take it as a good sign for their upcoming meals.

My Albino is SUPER active. It seems like she's trying to get out of the tank all the time. She also hasn't eaten in almost 3 weeks and has lost 2 grams of weight. How do you discern between a snake being active and hungry or a snake being active and stressed?

Post a pic of her setup. It sounds like she's stressed out.
