    Ceramic heat emitters?
Hi, so I was thinking about getting a ceramic heat emitter for my future snake. My question is, can I put one inside a pvc cage, or should I cut a hole in the top and put screen so the snake can't touch it? Would the snake climb onto a heat lamp of any sorts if they had the opportunity?

If you got a pvc cage, don't bother with a ceramic heat emitter, get a radiant heat panel. Those are designed for pvc cages and have 2 mounting screws you put through the roof and bolt it down. They don't suck out the moisture from the air like ceramic heat emitters do and they are safe if your snake starts checking it out unlike ceramic heat emitters that get hot enough to instantly burn if touched. Of course you will still need a thermostat to regulate it. I use a Pro Product one and they claim it wont get hot enough to burn your snake even if run full power 24/7 but I run mine off a Herpstat 1 anyways. Call and talk to Bob at Pro Products and he can get you set up with the right size you need after you give him the info like ambient room temp, cage size, material, animal type etc.
