    Pricing on a lesser
    Hey all

I've been browsing around stores and different websites, trying to find a yearling lesser female, or a breeding ready lesser female. I finally found one that I think could suit my purposes, and she's got great colouring and pattern to her.

The problem (at least, the problem for me) is that the gentleman selling her wants 700 for her. She's perfect breeding size and has already locked with a pastave this season.

Is this a reasonable price for a snake like that?

Is she proven? If she is then that bumps the price a little, but it seems a tad high for just a straight Lesser unless he is thinking about the potential clutch which is another thing to consider. If she's already locked with a Pastave, it could be that will take and you can't use her for your plans this season. Can you work with that possible outcome? Good luck whatever you decide and Happy Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately $700 is too much...I got between $250-$450 for proven Butter females this year...Plus they were for sale forever.

Probably not a very big help at all, but this weekend I'm picking up a 185 gram female lesser for $80. $700 seems WAY too high, even if she's proven.

The person didn't specify if she was proven or not. And even if the lock from the pastave took, it wouldn't matter but speed up my planned breeding program. I want to produce myself a BEL so having a butter who has locked to a pastave can do nothing but help that.

I haven't heard back yet, so it's possible someone bought it, but at that price I feel it's slightly extortion lol.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

BEL's go for $500-700, the breeder might be trying to get value out of the potential clutch. but as a straight lesser female adult I would say 700 is too high
