Is my female a Mystic or a Normal?
2 years ago I bought a snake from PetSmart. I was told that it was a male and that it was a normal. I had it checked last year and it turns out that he is in fact a she. Recently I was told that she may be a mystic because of certain traits such as a diesel fuel look (like on top of water) on her head and that she only had like one or two alien heads and several keyholes. I have no idea if the guy even knows what he is talking about, but I do know that he owns a male mystic (verified by a breeder) and he has the same traits as my female. Is there anyone that could tell me which one my female is?https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...4&l=e7f3f7c484 I was only able to post the link to her pic on facebook. You have to open in a new tab or window.

The link does not work. All I can see is a icon that looks like a polaroid with an X on it.

I cannot see the photo either.

The diesel fuel look thing is something they all get right after a shed. It's almost iridescence. The lack of alien heads doesn't mean much, since it varies widely from snake to snake even in normals. I've seen a few mystics in my day, and it is a very subtle morph. Unless you know exactly what you are looking for, it is easy to confuse with a normal. I know one of the key traits is a sharp contrast between the markings and the body color. Mystic's tend to be more yellow/gold in their markings than tan like a normal. I believe they are supposed to have a lot of side blushing and flames as well. If you could get a few clear pictures up of the snake form the top, the side and a closeup of the head, I'm sure people with experience could tell you if it was.

Under normal circumstances, I;d say the odds of hitting a morph instead of a normal from a petshop are about equal to winning the lottery. But, some petshops have begun to carry a few lower end morphs, and then there is the fact that Mystic's do look a lot like a normal. So in theory it might be a mystic.
