    When feeders become pets
Hey guys! Didn't know where to post this so figured husbandry was best.

Yesterday I purchased my first live feeders. All my adults are on F/T but my two new babies weren't taking them. So I decided to try live. Thankfully, last minute, they both took a frozen mouse.

So I've decided to keep the little live mice as pets.

But I was just wondering if anyone's had a similar experience? Where your feeders became pets? I love animals of all types, and really hated the idea of feeding live. I would do anything necessary to ensure my snakes health, but can't lie that I'm very happy they took frozen.

Anyways, here's salt and peppa, the lucky feeder mice that get to live out their days safe and sound :)

I have two rats. They started as rat pups that weren't eaten one week and no one else needed food at that point. I couldn't let them lay there for days without food so I fed them, planning on using them next feeding day.

Now, they have names and are much larger.

This is my group of feeder pups that would have been left to die.(:http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...b797f329c0.jpg Two passed away, but we have four now.

This is my baby Karma. She was bought as a feeder rat when her eyes were barely open. Her sibling was enough for my snake and that left her. It was suggested that I should kill her and freeze her, but I couldn't. She's special. I bottle fed her and now she is a very hyper little rat. She hops in my hand and cuddles with me. She is also starting to bite, so that sucks. But... yep. I love hearing about other people in the same rat/ mice boat.

I had a pet rat which is why I think it's so hard for me to feed live. But they are awesome little guys. I'm sorry about losing him, but I'm sure he had a much much better life than what was planned for him :)
