Question on Fluker heat mat install
I recently changed out a Zoo-Med self stick heat mat for a Fluker's heat mat; on the directions it says you should use a styrofoam mat to direct the heat back up into the tank?

Does anybody have their tank set up this way and if so what where do I find a piece of styrofoam that will work?

    Thanks!

I have never heard of that. When I did use heat mats I just put them directly on the tank.

That's what I did; centered thermostat probe in the center using foil tape then taped the heat mat directly onto the tank making sure it was nice and flat against the tank.

That's how I had the Zoo-med mat set up and I never had a problem getting my temps.

I have 2 fluker matts and use foil tape to adhere to bottom of tank then use styrofoam under matt against shelf to direct it

I have rigid foam insulation around my enclosures - the kind with the foil on it. I don't know if it makes a HUGE difference, but I do it anyway.
