    Herpstat question
Apologies, from looking through past posts I see this comes up a lot. Unfortunately I'm completely inept when it comes to electronics.

I'm not going to be getting my BP until spring, but I'd like to pick up my Herpstat while they're currently having their sale. The problem is, I'm having a hard time figuring out if I should get the 1 or the 2. It gets very chilly here in Iowa, so in addition to regulating my heat tape I'm most likely going to need a heater for the ambient temps as well. Would the Herpstat 1 be able to handle both the heat tape and a CRH or do I need to get the Herpstat 2 for that?

You need the 2. Also, I highly recommend getting the 4 since ball pythons are addictive. It'll save you from spending more money later ; )

The only way you can operate more than one device on a single tstat outlet is if the devices plugged into it are all identical and do not over load the tstat power rating.

If you think you will need a uth and a heat lamp you will for sure want the two. However a heat lamp or che can be controlled by distance by raising and lowering them using a lamp stand or you can use a dimmer to dial the heat source in to what you need.

Thanks guys! Looks like I'll probably be getting the 2... oh my poor wallet.

As addictive as they are, I'm stuck in this tiny apartment for a few years at least and only have room for one :(
