Retained eye cap question

My little dude Osiris ( the rescue adoptee) is a problem shedder due to his last owners mistreatment.
Anyway, my question is he just shed this am and it was in several pcs and I could not find the eye caps. He had mostly shed but still had it on his head and snout ( still had small pc on his snout from last shed)
I soaked him and the top of his head shed came off but not the snout.
I still didn't find the eye caps. When they retain them can you see them easy?
His eyes appear very clear and I can even see his pupil, I just want to make sure.
Also any suggestions on the old sheds in his snout?
I soaked and ran thru rough towel this am. Like I said he had a small pc still on his snout from last shed so now it's 2 pcs on his snout.

My Aragorn just got rid of some retained eyecaps. I wasn't sure I'd be able to tell if he got it off, but after he shed I knew for sure. I had forgotten how shiny black their eyes are (I'd been seeing my little guy with those caps waiting for the next shed). It's very obvious when they have the retained eye caps - definitely not the shiny black eyes they normally have.

I found a small pc of shed in his hot hide this morning which was the old pc on his snout and 1 eye cap. he now has a nice clean snout.
I couldn't tell yesterday he still had that eyecap on. His eyes are very light brown w/ big black slit pupils ( it's so cute )
Anyway I will keep an eye on the other to see how it looks.

If it is still on should I just wait until next shed if a couple more soaks don't help?

I basically waited until the next shed and kept a better eye on the humidity. I also did as a vet suggested on another forum:

I wasn't as diligent (didn't apply as often as the vet recommended) and Aragorn's caps didn't come of until the next shed - but I think it still helped because his eyes didn't look as dry/dull from the few times I did apply it

Heheh, yeah i can see me trying to hold down Osiris and dab his eye. Poor little dude would simply freak out. Thanks for the info.
Just looked in on him in his hide and I see the other side of his snout shed and it appears the eyecap came off the other side. So i now have both eyecaps accounted for. Boy I sure couldn't tell he still had them on last night.

Actually this shed was much better than last. Due to the condition he was in and left in when he was rescued he will be a problem shedder for a while, at least thats what my vet said.
I have been leaving his humidity higher all the time, like in the 60-65 range and bump it up to 70-75 for shed. I keep hot side around 92-93 and cool about 82-82.5 to hopefully chase a way any R/I because of the little higher than normal humidity. Hopefully this is a sign it is helping:)
