Feeding/shedding. newb

Hi guys, Sorry if this is in a sticky or has been answered hundreds of time. I did a quick search and didn't find my answer.

I've had my ball for less than 2 weeks (first snake & first shed) and there is a good chance that he will be in blue on Monday which is his normal feed day. I know not to feed him while in shed because of added stress.
My question is: do I feed him after his shed is complete and then get back on schedule OR just skip this week and feed him the following Monday.

I feed my little guy while he is in shed. It didn't stress him out at all. He digested everything properly and never had an issue. I know some people don't feed them while in shed, but others do. You could always try to feed him if you wanted to. Let the snake guide you.

You can do it pretty much any way you want.

You can feed him. A lot of BP's will eat while blue. Some will not. The only way you'll know is to try it and see what your snake thinks.

Or you can not feed him. No ball python will ever suffer from going 1 week without food.

It's up to you and your snake, really.

Thanks for the replies! I more than likely will hold off and feed him the following week. I can already tell that he is more head shy and cautious than normal

The only reason I don't feed during the shed is because visual accuracy may be off for striking.

Even though sometimes she goes totally with her heat sensors and appears blind as bat striking everywhere but AT the target. :tears: This is during some nonshed feedings.

Either way is fine, depends on the snake. Some will eat when in shed, some won't. Doesn't hurt to try, then you will know :gj:
